Coaching
Our lessons are tailored to meet you at your current skill level and give you the confidence you need to tackle ever more challenging terrain. Cyclists looking to make the transition from pavement to dirt will benefit from our instructors’ insight into trail etiquette, body position, and building the foundation for effective shifting, braking and cornering. Experienced riders will practice more advanced techniques for climbing/descending, clearing technical features, and jumping, among other skills. Our instructors ride regularly in the James River Park System, Pocahontas State Park and other area trails, and they’re ready to help you be the best rider you can be! $90 for a 90-minute lesson designed to help you take your trail riding to the next level
Small Group Mountain Bike Skills Coaching
$60 per person for two, three, or four friends of similar skill levels looking to hone your approach
All coaching reservations may be made in person or by calling the shop, and paying in full at the time of booking. For phone bookings, Venmo is preferred but all major credit cards may be used for an additional 3% processing fee. Please book at least one week in advance to allow for coordination of instructor schedules.
Except for weather-related reasons, all coaching lessons are final and non-refundable. Refunds and reschedules are available if weather conditions make it unsafe to ride.
If needed, the use of a Riverside Cycling bike and helmet is included in the price of the coaching lesson, but we encourage you to use your own if possible.
All participants must sign an activity waiver acknowledging the risks inherent to cycling. If you are using your own bike, simply leave the bike rental boxes unticked.
